Mario did a show on sicily and I watched him make broccoli this way. Basically hot pan, extra virgin olive oil, few garlic cloves and toss in some (dry) broccoli. Cook for about 6-7 minutes, toss in a few red pepper flakes and Voila! The broccoli is different in texture in a big way, because it only comes in contact with the hot oil.

Tried it last night with some fresh spring garlic and asparagus. Man is that good! cook time is less than 5 as well. Wonderful side dish to our seared halibut.
making it again tonite with just a touch more picante!
