Asparagi Prima Vera e Bistecca Fiorentina

Not much rain, and the builders have consistently destroyed my caches of wild asparagus, but chanced upon a NICE batch this afternoon. Even enough to surprise the neighbors with who moved here recently from California. Stanotte? Bistecca Fiorentina and steamed wild asparagus!

Since it's late this year, there might even be enough for kristine to enjoy when she gets back; that is if I don't eat it all!

Spaghettini con scampi alla Mario

Shrimp turned out just right. But...a little TOO much hot pepper cuz I couldn't taste the mint at all. Spring mint and parsley were nice additions; just watch how much pepe you use or you'll ruin it. (well, maybe not RUIN it but it certainly won't be at its crest.)

Followed this with a huge spoonful of PB and Grape Jelly. (the optimum ration is close to 3:1...that my two cents)
